The Community Development Committee is holding a special meeting later this evening on 11/20/2024 at 6:45PM prior to the Common Council meeting at 7PM.
They will be voting on a request from Merge LLC to extend the purchase date to February 28, 2025 of the site where the former Blue Ramp used to be located on the southeast corner of Washington Street and Appleton Street.
This area is intended to be the location of phase two of the Merge, LLC housing development. Merge intends to move forward with the purchase and development, but they did not receive a DNR Clearance Letter until 09/18/2024. Per the memo from staff, “Due to a combination of receiving the clearance letter later than expected and securing funds, Staff and the Developer propose to extend the closing date to February 28, 2025. This will allow the first phase to reach full lease up, progress on the build out of the commercial spaces, and for interest rates to lower.”
