Common Council Meeting Scheduled For 02/17/2021

The Appleton Common Council is meeting 02/17/2021 at 7pm.

Mayor Woodford will be presenting two proclamations. In the first he encourages all who can wear a face covering to do so.

The second declares February 19, 2021 to be Caregiver’s Day in Appleton and encourages residents “to become familiar with the services provided by these health care professionals and take part in community appreciation efforts to show them honor and support.”

The mayor will also be announcing his appointment of Umika Sivasamy, a sophomore at Appleton North High School, to the Library Board.

There will be a Covid update. Of note is the fact that the city’s burden has dropped down into the “High” category even after including probable cases in the case count instead of just confirmed cases like DHS uses.

There are a couple rezoning hearings. The plan to rezone “#11-20 at N. Purdy Parkway from R1-B Single-Family District to NC Nature Conservancy District” looks interesting. [It’s nice to see nature preservation.]

There’s a slate of liquor licenses that they’ll be voting on as well as items related to various maintenance projects across the city.

There is also an action item regarding rezoning the land where the Refuge is located.
