The Community Development Committee is meeting 08/28/2024 at 4:30PM.
They have no action items, but they do have two public hearings and four information items.
The public hearings are both associated with information items.
The first is the Community Development Block Grant Notice of Funding Available and Community Needs for the 2025 Program Year. The city receives yearly funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the public hearing is one of multiple hearings to seek public input on the allocation of the 2025 fund. The city will first focus on funding eligible city projects and then allocate any remaining funds to community partner organizations.
The second hearing pertains to the creation of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for the Community Development Block Grant Program. The five year plan “explains the City’s priorities for use of CDBG funds, provides numerable goals and targeted outcomes in the upcoming 5-year span, and requires a community engagement process that engages residents and incorporates their feedback into the spending plans in meaningful ways.”
In addition to those public hearings and information items, the committee will receive the Community development Department’s Mid-Year 2024 Budget Report and review the Inspection Division Permit Summary Report ending 07/31/2024.
