During the 06/05/2024 Common Council meeting, Mayor Woodford will be presenting 5 mayoral proclamations.
With the first he proclaims June 2024 to be Pride Month in Appleton and urges “all citizens to honor, celebrate, and promote equal rites for all people regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.”
With the second he proclaims June 2024 to the Scleroderma Awareness Month in Appleton and encourages “residents to wear teal for the month of June to increase awareness and to educate the medical community and public in support of scleroderma awareness and to participate in scleroderma awareness-related events.”
With the third he proclaims June 1 – 7, 2024 to be CPR and AED Awareness Week in Appleton and calls upon “citizens to practice the two-step hands-only CPR method and be aware of the CPR and AED educational opportunities available in our community.”
With the fourth he proclaims June 7, 2024 to be Gun Violence Awareness Day in Appleton and asks “all citizens to renew their commitment to reduce gun violence, encourage responsible gun ownership, and to wear orange on June 7 to honor and remember all victims and survivors of gun violence and to raise awareness about gun violence.”
With the fifth, he proclaims June 9, 2024 to be Juneteenth Celebration Day in Appleton and encourages “all citizens to join in the commemoration and celebration of this historic day.”
