The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 02/12/2024.
They will start in closed session at 5:15PM to discuss a student expulsion order, the Superintendent’s contract, and real estate.
They will enter open session at 6PM or when they have concluded the private items, whichever is later.
During the open session, they will vote on a real estate purchase [presumably the one discussed in closed session].
They will also discuss as information items several items pertaining to charter schools. Both Fox River Academy and Appleton Technical Academy each wish to renew their charter contracts.
They will also be discussing the creation of a Hmong American Immersion School. This 4k – 5th grade charter school would open in fall of 2025 and would focus “on academic excellence utilizing Hmong culture, history, language, and next generation socially and emotionally intelligent citizens.”
