The Finance Committee is holding a special meeting 08/16/2023 at 6:30PM ahead of the Common Council meeting at 7PM.
Brad Viegut, the city’s Baird representative, will be presenting the results of the 2023 General Obligation Notes sale. This was discussed at the 08/07/2023 Finance Committee meeting at which the committee voted to give Mr. Viegut the go-ahead to pursue the sale of $20.2 million worth of general obligation promissory notes to be paid back over the next 10 years. During that meeting, Mr. Viegut estimated the interest rate of those notes to be 3.75%, but at the special meeting on 08/16 he will present the final interest rate and costs.
After that presentation, the committee will vote on a resolution authorizing and providing for the sale and issuance of those promissory notes. That will then be voted on by the full Common Council at the Council meeting later that night.
