Utilities Committee Meeting 10/11/2022 – Will Vote On Erosion and Sediment Control Changes, Additional Water Main Replacement Projects

The Utilities Committee is meeting 10/11/2022 at 4:30PM.

As one would expect, the Utilities Committee will be dealing with some big and exciting items including (1) changes to Municipal Code Chapter 24 which pertains to Erosion and Sediment Control and (2) changes to the city’s Erosion and Sediment Control Program. [I expect everyone is on pins and needles.]

They will also be voting on a request to approve the 2023 Add-on Water Main Replacement Project List. It looks like the city had some extra money due to a project coming in well under budget, so they are wanting to take the left over money and spend it on replacing water mains.

As an information item, the committee will be receiving the August 2022 Water Main Break/Joint Leak Report. Currently, we’ve had 88 watermain breaks as of the end of August as compared to 83 by the end of August last year. Last year was one of the highest years in terms of water main breaks/leaks; we still have 4 months to see if 2022 ends up being even higher.
