Edward Ruffolo Declined To Fill Board of Education Vacancy

The Board of Education met in closed session for around 3 hours. When they returned to open session, Board President Kay Eggert gave the following statement:

“I have a brief announcement regarding the vacant seat on the Board of Education. As the public is aware, the Board met in closed session this evening concerning the vacant seat on the Board. During that closed session, Mr. Ed Ruffolo contacted the Board by telephone. Mr. Ruffolo indicated that he was withdrawing as a candidate to fill the vacant seat, and that as a result he was declining to accept the vacant seat on the Board. Consequently the seat remains vacant and will still need to be filled under Board policy and state statute. The Board will continue the Board vacancy selection process and will proceed as rapidly as possible to conclude the process.”
