Safety And Licensing Committee Meeting 08/13/2025 – Will Receive AASD Truancy Ordinance Initiative Update, Conduct Public Appearances For Businesses Convicted Of Dispensing Alcohol To Minors

The Safety and Licensing Committee is meeting 08/13/2025 at 5:30PM.

The action items all appear to be routine license-related items. The main items of interest at the meeting will probably be the information items.

They will be receiving an update on the AASD Truancy Ordinance Initiative as well as receiving the 2025 Police Department Mid-Year Report.

They will also be conducting Demerit Point Violation Appearances for 5 businesses that were convicted of dispensing alcohol to minors, each of which received 80 demerit points for the violations. Due to state law regarding convictions for selling alcohol to minors, those demerit points will only count toward the total demerit points if they receive another conviction for selling to minors within 12 months of the first conviction. The businesses being asked to appear before the committee and discuss their violations are Mill City Public House, El Azteca Restaurant, The Bent Keg, Lindo Michoacan, and Northland Amoco. Lindo Michoacan was recently convicted of not having a licensed operator on the premises and did not attend the meeting at which they were asked to discuss that violation.
