Library Board Personnel And Policy Committee Meeting 06/20/2025 – Will Conduct Library Director Mid-Year Performance Review, Update Several Library Policies

The Library Board Personnel and Policy Committee is meeting 06/20/2025 at 9:15AM.

Part of the meeting will be closed session as the committee conducts the Library Director’s mid-year performance review.

In open session, the committee will be reviewing and voting on updates to several library policies.

The Library Space Use Policy will be updated to reflect the library spaces that have hearing loops installed and place responsibility for covering any damage to the hearing loops on people who reserve the spaces by inserting the language stating specific areas have “a hearing loop installed beneath the carpet. Cutting or using sharp tools on the carpet is not allowed. Any damage to the hearing loop will be the responsibility of the person who reserved the space.”

The Customer Service Policy has some minor changes in verbiage.

The Safety and Security Policy adds language about how to deal with inappropriate behavior in the restrooms.

The Library Circulation Policy reorganizes some of the content and adds language allowing library staff to deny borrowing to cardholders who do not have a confirmed place of residence and allowing the library to utilize a collection agency to recover items and/or funds.
