The Community Development Committee is meeting 06/11/2025. They have three action items on the agenda with two associated public hearings all of which are related to the Community Development Block Grant Program.
The first action item is a request to approve the 2024 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the Community Development Block Grant Program. Per the memo from staff, “The CAPER discusses Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) activities undertaken by the City of Appleton during the 2024 Program Year (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025) and the accomplishments and impacts of the variety of projects that Appleton pursued or supported through subrecipients.”

The second is a request to approve the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for the CDBG Program. This plan “describes the community’s priorities and goals for expenditure of funds,” as well as “outlines community needs as it relates to affordable housing and community development and includes a strategic plan for the use of funding with specific, achievable goals.” It is something the city is required to do as a recipient of federal entitlement funds.
Finally, they will be voting on a request to revise the 2025-2026 Program Year CDBG allocations to fit in with the amount of money the city was actually awarded by the Federal Government which was $12,372 lower than they had estimated.
