The Human Resources and Information Technology Committee is meeting 05/14/2025 at 6:30PM.
They will be voting on requests to reorganize the Department of Public Works Parking Utility and the Department of Finance.
For the Parking Utility, city staff would like to create a new position titled Parking Enforcement Lead which would replace one of the two current Parking Enforcement Person roles. The new lead position would be a Grade 5, as compared to the Grade 3 of the currently enforcement position, and the cost of the increase would be paid through budgeted and vacant salary funds in the current budget.
For the Finance Department, staff is requesting to take the tasks of the frontline Account Clerk and redistribute them between the Customer Service Accounting Supervisor and the Property tax Specialist. The existing Customer Service Accounting Supervisor would be made the Customer Service Supervisor and move from a pay grade 9 to grade 8. The Property Tax Specialist would become the Staff Accountant/Property Tax Specialist and increase from pay grade 6 to grade 7.
Additionally, the committee will be voting on a request to approve the side letter agreement with the union that covers Valley Transit employees. This agreement would increase the Master Mechanic hourly wage to $35.9866 and create a Shop Foreperson position that will be taken by the current Lead Mechanic, a position that will receive an additional $3 per hour above the Master Mechanic Wage.
Finally, they will be voting on a request to approve a 36-month agreement with TDS Metrocom to provide backup Internet circuit at a rate of $805 per month ($9,660 annually).
