Mayor Woodford To Present 10 Mayoral Proclamations During 05/07/2025 Common Council Meeting

During the Common Council meeting on 05/07/2025 Mayor Woodford will be presenting 10 mayoral proclamations.

With the first, he declares Friday, May 23 to be American Legion Poppy Day in Appleton and calls “upon all citizens to join in the observance through the wearing of poppies.”

With the second, he proclaims May 2025 to be Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Appleton and encourages “residents to recognize the many contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders in our City, celebrate their heritage, and promote a culture of dignity and respect for all people.”

With the third, he proclaims Thursday, May 22 to be City Celebration Day in Appleton and encourages “all residents, businesses, and community organizations to come together, participate in the festivities, and celebrate the sense of community that makes our city a great place to live, work, and play.”

With the fourth, he proclaims May 2025 to be Jewish American Heritage Month in Appleton and encourages “residents to recognize the many contributions of Jewish Americans in our communities, celebrate their history, promote a culture of dignity and inclusion for all people, and oppose all forms of antisemitism.”

With the fifth, he proclaims the week of May 4-10, 2025 to be Municipal Clerks Week in Appleton and extends “appreciation to our Municipal Clerk, Kami Lynch, and to all Municipal Clerks for the vital services they perform and their dedication to the communities they represent.”

With the sixth, he proclaims Monday, May 17 to be Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day in Appleton and encourages “all citizens to recognize neurofibromatosis and join the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s efforts to increase understanding, empower families, and support research in an effort to change the future of this serious condition.”

With the seventh, he proclaims May 6-12, 2025 to be Nurse Appreciation Week in Appleton and calls “upon all residents to join me in honoring the registered nurses who care for all of us, celebrate their accomplishments and efforts to improve the health care system, and show appreciation for their work in our community.”

With the eight, he proclaims May 4-10, 2025 to be Public Service Recognition Week in Appleton and encourages “all residents to join in recognizing the dedication and service of our public servants, and to express gratitude for their invaluable contributions to our communities and our nation.”

With the ninth, he proclaims May 17-23, 2025 to be Safe Boating Week in Appleton and encourages “all boaters to take the necessary steps to ensure a safe and enjoyable boating experience while making memories with family and friends.”

With the tenth, he proclaims May 6, 2025 to be Teacher Appreciation Day in Appleton and encourages “all residents to join me in expressing appreciation to our teachers for their dedication and devotion to their work.”
