The Safety and Licensing Committee is meeting 02/26/2025 at 5:30PM.
They will be holding two demerit point violation appearances for two businesses that recently received demerits for alcohol license violations. Home Burger Bar received 40 demerit points for having no licensed operator on the premises. Badger Mobil on Badger Avenue received 40 demerit points for having no licensed operator on the premises and 80 demerit points for dispensing alcohol to a minor.
They will also be voting on a mechanical amusement devise license for Pizzeria Pub and Bar that the Police Department is requesting be denied. On the application, the applicant listed 5 amusement devises, one of which was a dart board which was legal to have and four of which were considered illegal gambling devices under Wisconsin state law.
They will also be voting on an alcohol license application for Pizzeria Pub and Bar which the Police Department has not requested be denied.
Finally, they will be voting on an alcohol license for a business named Bunnies on the Ave which will be located in the space that formerly housed Speakeasy Ultra Lounge. Speakeasy had 295 demerit points on its alcohol license and was facing revocation of its license, but rather than revoke the license, the Safety and Licensing Committee gave the owner time to sell the business and surrender his license so that the new business owner would be able to apply for an alcohol license immediately rather than having to wait 6 months as they would if the license was revoked.
