The Community Development Committee is meeting 02/26/2025 at 4:30PM.
They have on item on their agenda which is a request from Merge LLC to extend the purchase date of the site that formerly housed the Blue Parking Ramp to 05/01/2025.
Merge already owns and has developed the lot on the southeast corner of Washington Street and the City Center alleyway which was Phase 1 of their development project. Phase 2 of their project is the development of the lot directly to the west of that on the site where the Blue Ramp used to be located.
Merge’s purchase of the Blue Ramp site has been delayed several times. The development agreement with the city originally called for them to purchase the site by 02/16/2023. This deadline was extended to 09/29/2023. Eventually, the deadline got extended to 07/31/2024 but was then pushed to 02/28/2025 due to a need to wait for DNR clearance, Phase 1 to reach full lease up, and “the need to wait for suitable financing conditions”.
At this point, Merge is requesting to extend the purchase closing date one final [or should I say “final”?] time to 05/01/2025.
