Mayor Woodford: Please rise for the invocation, which will be delivered by Alder Meltzer.
Alderperson Vered Meltzer (District 2): As days get shorter and nights get longer, we look forward to the coldest and darkest part of the year. It inspires reflection. When we’re confronted with darkness, we seek light. We don’t always know where to seek. The darkness can be very heavy. But we will find over and over this winter opportunities to be the light in someone else’s darkness, and when we are the light in someone else’s darkness, our own path forward is illuminated. Thank you.
