During the 11/06/2024 Common Council meeting, Mayor Woodford will be presenting 7 mayoral proclamations.
With the first, he proclaims November to be Lung Cancer Awareness Month in Appleton an encourages “all residents to raise awareness, support early detection and treatment efforts, and honor those we have lost while offering hope to those affected.”
With the second, he proclaims November to be Youth HOPE Month (formerly known as National Runaway Prevention Month) in Appleton and encourages “all citizens to recognize the role we can all play in advocating for and providing safe alternatives to this vulnerable population of young people.”
With the third, he proclaims November 2024 to be Native American Heritage Month in Appleton and urges “all residents to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.”
With the fourth, he proclaims November 1, 2024 to be Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome Awareness Day in Appleton and encourages “all citizens to learn more about LGS, support those who are impacted, and participate in awareness activities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with this challenging disorder.”
With the fifth, he proclaims November 3-10, 2024 to be Appleton High Schools DECA Week and encourages “residents, businesses, and organizations to become familiar with the services and benefits offered by Appleton’s high school DECA chapters, and to support and participate in these programs to prepare students for college and professional careers.”
With the sixth, he proclaims November 18-22, 2024 to be Crash Responder Safety Week in Appleton and encourages “all residents, drivers, and organizations to observe this week by practicing safe driving behaviors, raising awareness, and supporting the safety of our first responders.”
With the seventh, he proclaims November 30, 2024 to be Small Business Saturday in Appleton and urges “all Fox Cities residents to support small businesses and merchants on Small Business Saturday.”
