The Board of Health met 09/11/2024. As an information item they received an update on the dangerous animal declaration for a dog named Ziva.
The order declaring Ziva dangerous lists the dog as a male Great Dane, but then the notice provided to the owner lists Ziva as being a female Pitbull, so I’m not sure which one of those descriptions is correct.
Regardless of the sex or breed, between 08/22 and 08/23, Ziva charged aggressively a multiple different people and then attacked another dog leaving multiple puncture wounds. The attack was unprovoked and during all of the incidents the dog was not under the control of its owners.
During the 09/11/2024 Board of Health meeting, Health Deputy Director Sonja Jensen told the committee that the family was in the process of working to meet all of the requirements necessary to meet the ordinance requirements to keep the dog in the city.
