The City Plan Commission is meeting o8/28/2024 at 3:30PM. They have two action items, one with an associated public hearing.
The action item with the public hearing is a request to rezone some parcels on Schaefer Street near the corner of Calumet Street from Planned Development General Commercial Districts to Planned Development General Commercia Districts with a specific Implementation Plan Document and Development Plan. These are commercial lots on Schaefer Street next to the Calumet Street Kitz and Pfeil, the Reel Shot, and Ye Old Goat.
The owner would like to make this change so that he can combine the lots and also “establish clear and consistent development standards” for the lots. City staff is recommending approval of the request.
The commission will also be voting on a request to approve the Downtown Appleton Business Improvement District’s 2025 Operating Plan.
Per plan documents, the Business Improvement District looks to be a partnership between the City of Appleton, Appleton Downtown Inc, and Creative Downtown Appleton, to support development in the downtown area and “preserve and improve economic, culture, and social conditions within the district by facilitating partnerships of people and organizations to achieve mutual goals.”
