Finance Committee Meeting 08/26/2024 – Will Vote On Phase 2 Of Green Ramp Emergency Repairs, Approve Multiple Requests Related To Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects

The Finance Committee is meeting 08/26/2024.

They have 7 action items on the agenda, but none of them seem particularly controversial or likely to result in extended discussion.

Four of the items are related to projects at the wastewater treatment plant and one is related to the water treatment facility.

The remaining two items are:

(1) A request from staff to apply for a grant for a traffic signal at the intersection of Richmond Street and Ridgeview Drive. This item will also go before the Municipal Services Committee.

(2) A request to approve a sole source contract of $59,613 for phase 2 of emergency repairs of the Green parking ramp. Per the memo, “On 08/07/2024, a vehicle struck and severely damaged a sixth-floor concrete barrier panel, necessitating emergency panel replacement and related work.”

The Council already approved $47,000 to cover the cost of “a temporary engineered shoring system extending from level 6 down to ground level.”

Phase 2, which the Finance committee will be voting on at this meeting, will cover “the demolition and disposal of the damaged 6th floor concrete barrier wall with attached cable railing, and all required traffic control.”

Phase 3 which will cover the construction and installation of a replacement barrier will come before the committee and Council at a later date.
