The Common Council is meeting 07/17/2024 at 7PM.
Because the Common Council meeting on 07/03/2024 was cancelled due to the 4th of July holiday, the Council now had two weeks’ worth of committee items to vote on.
The main item of discussion will probably be the resolution to rescind the No Mow May Ordinance Language. This was discussed and voted on during the 06/24/2024 Municipal Services Committee meeting, during which the committee voted to rescind No Mow May but increase the allowable maximum height of grass in the city from 8” tall to 10” tall.
Another item that may be separated out for an individual vote and discussion is the request to not renew the alcohol license for Corner Pub. The Safety and Licensing Committee voted 3-2 to recommend the license not be renewed because it has not been used for over 12 months since May of 2023 when the establishment experienced widespread damage caused by a burst water pipe. However, two of the committee members were in favor of granting the license holder a 60-day extension in order to provide further time for the license holder to complete necessary repairs and receive approval to reopen the business.
Those are the only two action items that stand out to me as likely to be separated out for individual votes, but Council members may have other items they wish to discuss as well.
In addition to the action items, the Flag Day Parade Award Winners will be presented during the Council meeting.
