Safety And Licensing Committee Meeting 06/26/2024 – Will Vote On Request To Not Renew Alcohol License That Has Been Abandoned

The Safety and Licensing Committee is meeting 06/26/2024 at 5:30PM.

The agenda mainly consists of alcohol license applications and renewals along with some cigarette, tobacco, and vaping licenses, and a mobile home park license renewal application.

One item of note is the non-renewal of the Class B fermented malt beverages and Class B liquor license for Corner Pub on Mason Street near the corner of Summer Street. In May of 2023, a water pipe in the rental unit above the bar broke resulting in significant damage to the property. The business was given a deadline of 05/30/2024 to repair the damage and reopen the business in order to maintain the license. At this point, the business has not been reopened and the city is now treating the alcohol license as if it has been abandoned and will, therefore, not renew it.
