The City Plan Commission is meeting 03/27/2024 at 3:30PM.
They have one action item with an associated public hearing on their agenda which is a rezoning request for a parcel on E Midway Road to change it from an R-1A Single-Family District to an R-3 Multi-Family District. The areas surrounding this parcel are a mix of single-family and multi-family (apartments) residential properties, and although this land is currently zoned as a single-family district the city’s Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map show this area as being designated for multi-family land use which would be in keeping with the rezoning request. Staff is recommending approval of the request.
As an information item, the committee will be informed about an upcoming update of Appleton’s Comprehensive Plan and Sub-Area Plans. The city will be using American Rescue Plan Act dollars to fund the hiring of a consultant to help them update their Comprehensive Plan with a focus on housing and housing affordability in the City of Appleton. They also want to focus on redeveloping and enhancing the corridors of Wisconsin Avenue, Richmond Street, and South Oneida Street.
