Alderperson Doran Introduces Resolution Calling For Study To Determined Best Management Practices Of Publicly-Owned Parking Ramps And Metered Stalls

During the 12/06/2023 Common Council meeting, one new resolution. Authored by Alderperson Chad Doran (District 15), Resolution 15-R-23 would, if passed, direct a parking facility strategic plan to be created. Part of that strategic plan would include a study assessing the value and conditions of the city’s publicly-owned parking ramps and metered stalls and to determine best management practices and options including the possibility of selling or leasing all or parts of those city-owned parking assets. The study would also develop a downtown marketing and promotional campaign.

The resolution had been referred to the Municipal Services Committee for review and a vote.

[I don’t know. If the city can’t even competently manage a few parking ramps and some on-street metered stalls without seeking the advice of “experts”, then something is really wrong.]
