Safety And Licensing Committee Meeting 11/01/2023 – Will Vote On Bartender License Application The Police Department Is Recommending Be Denied

The Safety and Licensing Committee will be holding a special meeting on 11/01/2023 at 5:45PM.

They have one action item on the agenda which is to vote on an operator/bartender license application that the Police Department is recommending be denied. Katie has been convicted of drug possession, which is why the Police Department is recommending denial. However, she told the committee she has prioritized her sobriety for the last 4 years, is seeking regular addiction treatment and counseling, and completed her probation over a year ago.

Per State Statute, documentation of having successfully completed probation should be considered evidence of her rehabilitation and she should be granted her license. Previously, the Safety and Licensing Committee had voted to hold the item to give her time to acquire the necessary paperwork.
