The Finance Committee is holding a special meeting on 10/18/2023 at 6PM. They will be voting on a request to award a $1 million ARPA grant to the Thompson Center on Lourdes (TCoL).
This grant award was prompted by the potential upcoming relationship between the Library and TCoL. As posted in an updated agenda for the Library Board meeting today (10/17/2023), the Appleton Public Library will need to leave the current temporary library space on Kensington Drive at the end of 2023. The city has reached an agreement with TCoL to relocate the temporary library to the TCoL location through 12/31/2024. That agreement is contingent in part on the approval of the use of ARPA funds to support Thompson Center on Lourdes.
The Library Board voted on the sublease agreement, the relocation services contract, and a request to temporary close the library from 11/22/2023 – 01/08/2024 at their meeting earlier today.
The Finance Committee will be voting on the ARPA grant award for TCoL at their 10/18/2023 meeting.
