Utilities Committee Meeting 07/25/2023 – Will Vote On Stormwater Management Plan Review Contract Increase, Payments To City For Stormwater Ponds At Reid Golf Course And Memorial Park

The Utilities Committee is meeting 07/25/2023 at 4:30PM.

The agenda includes three action items.

The first is a request to amend the 2023A Stormwater Management Plan Review contract to increase to total contract by $20,000. Per the memo, “Due to the number of stormwater management plans submitted in 2023, the number of plans expected to be submitted yet this summer and the coordination needed for larger projects, the original contact amount of $35,000 is anticipated to be expended within the next two months. Work under this contract is charged on an hourly basis and is therefore only used as needed. In order to keep projects moving forward, staff is requesting this amendment now, before the current contract is completely spent.”

The second is a request to adopt revised Reid Golf Course and Appleton Memorial Park Stormwater Utility Agreements for Stormwater Ponds. The Stormwater Utility makes annual rent payments for the stormwater ponds at Reid Golf Course and Appleton Memorial Park. Currently, the Utility pays $40,000 for Memorial Park and $15,210 for Reid Golf Course. Under the new agreement, those would increase to $41,769 and $21,060.

The third item is a request to award a contract for $27,901 to Fiberglass Solutions for tank relining services.

Finally, the committee will be receiving a number of information items including several 2nd Quarter reports and the May and June 2023 Water Main Breaks reports. The utility identified only 2 breaks in May and 3 in June.
