The City Plan Commission is meeting 07/12/2023 at 3:30PM.
They have two public hearings that go along with two action items.
The first is a special use permit for an automobile sales and display lot located at 1524 W. Civic Street, right off Prospect Avenue behind Niko’s Gyros. Back in 2009, the location was granted a special use permit to allow the display of automobiles indoors. In 2010, the Board of Zoning Appeals granted them a variance to the city code’s automobile sales and display lot landscaping and buffering standards; however, the owner never followed up by applying for a special use permit for an outdoor sales and display lot. It would appear they are now doing that. Staff is recommending approval for their request.
The second is a request related to a street vacation of a portion of E Circle Street near Kaleidoscope Academy. This area has not been used for public purposes for over 50 years, and it looks like two attempts were made in the past to formally vacate it, but, for whatever reason, those attempts were not completed. Staff is recommending approval.
The commission will also be taking up two action items that do not have associated public hearings.
The first is a request to approve the location of the Sexual Assault Survivors Monument within Ellen Kort Pace Park.
The second is a request to elect a new Vice Chair for the commission. Commissioner Isaac Uitenbroek has stepped down from his role as Vice Chair because he has taken on a new role with Outagamie County which will prevent him from attending meetings as regularly as he had.
