The Board of Health is meeting 05/10/2023 at 7AM.
They will be voting on house-keeping items including electing a chair and vice-chair and setting the meeting date and time.
Outside of that, they will be voting on a request for the Village of Greenville to join the East Central Weights and Measures Consortium.
They will also receive a number of information items including a review of the Tri-County Public Health Alignment Charter, the 2022 Annual Health Department Report, and 5 Dangerous Animal Declarations.
It looks like, since February of this year, 5 separate dogs have engaged in unprovoked attacks (4 against humans and one against an animal). Some of the attacks seem to have been quite brutal.
Caleb’s pit bull attacked a person and cause “significant facial injuries that required immediate hospital medical aid. The wounds suffered by the victim needed a total of 20 stiches.”
Brandon’s and Shayna’s mastiff/shepherd attacked a child, causing severe bodily harm. “The victim needed 20+ stiches.”
Sean’s husky has had several incidents of attacking both other dogs as well as a human without provocation.
The Fox Valley Humane Association adopted out a husky that “viciously attacked his new owner. The attack caused serious bodily harm,” and the owner needed multiple stiches on their face.
The Green Bay Humane Society adopted out a mutt that, unprovoked, attacked a domesticated cat, fracturing multiple bones in the cat’s face. The dog also showed aggression toward a human.

We adopted a dog from Appleton Humane society in 2017 ,
A older dog pit bull,
After a month of having it it attacked my grandaughter who was only 8 at the time
Her face needed emergency surgery,
Face and scalp 61 staples and stitches, and now a scar to this day.
We have no more dogs, desire no more.
I really love all animals but that was it for our family.
Oh my gosh. That’s terrible. I’m so sorry for your granddaughter. I hope she is doing better now even with the scar. 🙁
