The Common Council is meeting 05/03/2023 at 7PM.
An updated agenda was posted yesterday, and, in addition to the 6 mayoral proclamations I posted about, Mayor Woodford will also be presenting a proclamation proclaiming 05/17/2023 as Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day in which he encourages “all citizens to recognize neurofibromatosis and join the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s efforts to increase understanding, empower families, and support research in an effort to change to future of this serious condition.”
Regarding the action items on the agenda, none of the items seem particularly controversial, so it’s difficult to predict what if anything will be separated out for individual votes. A couple of items stand out as possibly noteworthy:
- Resolution 3-R-23 calling for the city’s Street Light Installation Policy to be reviewed. This was passed unanimously by the Municipal Services Committee after minimal discussion, but given that it is a resolution it could be separated out for an individual vote.
- Chadwick’s Bar alcohol license suspension stipulation. The Safety and Licensing Committee approved this stipulation by a 5-0 vote. This agreement with the city would allow the bar owners to avoid having their alcohol license revoked by instead serving a 10 day suspension and then avoid any future license violations for the next two years.
