During the 05/03/2023 Common Council meeting, Mayor Woodford will be presenting 6 mayoral proclamations.
With the first, he proclaims 05/12/2023 to be American Legion Poppy Day in Appleton and called “upon all citizens to join in the observance through the wearing of poppies.”
With the second, he proclaims 05/14/2023 to be Hmong American Day in Appleton and invites people “to join us in commemorating this day and formally recognizing and celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of Hmong Americans in Appleton and other cities throughout Wisconsin.”
With the third, he proclaims the week of May 8-12, 2023, to be Teacher Appreciation Week in Appleton and encourages “all residents to join me in expressing appreciation to our teachers for their dedication and devotion to their work.”
With the fourth, he proclaims the week of April 30-May 6, 2023, to be Municipal Clerks Week in Appleton and further extends “appreciation to our Municipal Clerk, Kami Lynch, and to all Municipal Clerks for the vital services they perform and their dedication to the communities they represent.”
With the fifth, he proclaims May 2023 to be Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Appleton and encourages “residents to recognize the many contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders in our City, celebrate their heritage, and promote a culture of dignity and respect for all people.”
With the sixth, he proclaims May 2023 to be Nurses Month in Appleton and calls upon all residents “to join me in honoring the registered nurses who care for all of us, celebrate their accomplishments and efforts to improve the health care system, and show appreciation for their work in our community.”
