Yesterday during the 04/05/2023 Common Council meeting, Mayor Woodford presented 7 mayoral proclamations.
With the first, he proclaimed 04/01/2023 to be Golden Rule Day in Appleton and encouraged “all residents to adhere to the Golden Rule, treating others the way they wish to be treated.”
With the second, he proclaimed 04/17/2023 to be Hemophilia Awareness Day in Appleton and encouraged “residents to recognize that individuals with hemophilia depend [on] our community blood supply, blood products, and blood safety.”
With the third, he proclaimed 04/22/2023 to be Earth Day in Appleton and encouraged “residents, businesses, and institutions to celebrate the Earth and promote the protection of our species and environment.”
With the fourth, he proclaimed 04/28/2023 to be Arbor Day in Appleton and encouraged “residents to celebrate Arbor Day, support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands, and plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the wellbeing of this and future generations.”
With the fifth, he proclaimed the week of April 3-9, 2023, to be Public Health Week in Appleton and encouraged “residents to celebrate Public Health Week and the work of those dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of all people in our community.:
With the sixth, he proclaimed the week of April 23-29 to be Library Week in Appleton and encouraged “all residents to visit the temporary library at 2411 S Kensington Drive. I encourage patrons to join in the programming that will occur throughout the community, continue to access the library’s website and electronic resources, and look forward to the new library’s grand opening.”
With the seventh, the proclaimed April 2023 to be Autism Acceptance Month in Appleton and encouraged “residents to participate in programs and outreach efforts aimed toward educating and supporting ASD awareness.”
