During the 02/27/2023 Appleton Area School District Board of Education meeting, the Board received an update on the middle school expansion projects. The presentation included blueprints which were shared with the board members but not the general public.
A number of readers were interested in seeing them, particularly in the hopes of getting a better idea of how the expansions would affect the softball diamonds and parking lots at the schools, both of which were issues that were touched on during the meeting.
I reached out to AASD and requested copies. Unfortunately, the District could not make copies available to the general public due to safety concerns. I asked if it would be possible for them to share some sort of general outline of the building plans that were not as detailed as the blueprints but could still help people better visualize where the additions would be placed and how they would affect the existing buildings and grounds. Unfortunately, they did not have any general outlines yet either.
It was, however, noted that the floorplans are available “for viewing purposes only” [I would take that to mean no pictures] at the District Leadership Center. So, anyone who would like to view them can contact the Scullen Leadership Center and schedule a time to view them.
