[NOTE: This agenda item was posted on the All Things Appleton Facebook page, but was not successfully posted on the website on Monday the day before the meeting like it was supposed to be posted. I apologize for that.]
The Utilities Committee is meeting 10/25/2022 at 4:30PM.
The one action item on the agenda is something that I’m sure will thrill the public. The committee will be voting to approve a 7% wastewater rate increase which will translate to an increase of $4 per quarter to the average residential customer. Per the memo submitted to the committee, “The proposed rate increase continues to provide a reasonable rate for service when compared to area communities.”
They will also be voting to increase the compost rate from $8 per cubic yard to $12 per cubic yard. Per the memo, “This rate increase is due to increasing contractor fees to process compost and transport costs to deliver materials to the facility.”
The committee will also be receiving several information items including 2 third quarter report and the September Water Main Breaks report. Year-To-Date watermain breaks are still trending above last year’s numbers.
