Normally, on Monday’s I post the past week’s Covid numbers for Appleton. However, for unknown reasons, DHS has not updated the weekend case numbers, so I don’t have weekly numbers to provide yet.
I can say that Appleton remains in the “Medium” Covid community level because that is the level Winnebago County is at. Outagamie and Calumet Counties are currently both still in the “Low” level. Wisconsin has 72 counties. Currently 19 of them are in the “Low” level, 35 are in the “Medium” level, and 18 are in the “High” level.
I thought it would be interesting to split the counties into the 36 with the lowest vaccination rates and the 36 with the highest rates and see how the community levels compared between the two groups. Right now, the 11 counties with the highest vaccination rates are at either the “Medium” or “High” level. 33% of the lowest vaccinated counties were in the “Low” level as compared to 19% of the highest vaccinated counties. 44% of the lowest counties were “Medium” as compared to 53% of the highest vaccinated counties. 22% of the lowest vaccinated counties were in the “High” level as compared to 28% of the most vaccinated counties.
