Mayor Woodford will be present 6 proclamations at the 05/04/2022 Common Council meeting.
The first proclaims the month of May 2022 to be Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and encourages “residents to recognize the many contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders in our City, celebrate their heritage, and promote a culture of dignity and respect for all people.”
The second proclaims Friday, May 14 2022 to be Hmong American Day in Appleton and invites people “to join us in commemorating this day and formally recognizing and celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of Hmong Americans in Appleton and other cities throughout Wisconsin.”
The third proclaims the week of May 1-7, 2022 to be Municipal Clerks Week in Appleton and extends “appreciation to our Municipal Clerk, Kami Lynch, and to all Municipal Clerks for the vital services they perform and their dedication to the communities they represent.”
The fourth proclaims Monday, May 17 to be Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day in Appleton and encourages “all citizens to recognize neurofibromatosis and join the Littlest Tumor Foundation’s efforts to increase understanding, empower families, and support research in an effort to change the future of this serious condition.”
The fifth proclaims the month of May 2022 to be Nurses Month in Appleton and calls upon residents to honor “the registered nurses who care for all of us, celebrate their accomplishments and efforts to improve the health care system, and show appreciation for their work in our community.”
The final proclamation declares the week of May 2-6, 2022 to be Teacher Appreciation Week in Appleton and encourages residents to express “appreciation to our teachers for their dedication and devotion to their work.”
