Safety And Licensing Committee Meeting 04/27/2022 – Will Vote On Table Of Organization Change For Fire Department, Receive Information On Police Department Traffic Safety Unit

The Safety And Licensing Committee is meeting 04/27/2022 at 5:30PM.

They will be voting on hazard mitigation plan agreements with Winnebago and Calumet counties.

They also have a number of alcohol licenses to vote on including a Class “B” Beer and “Class B” Liquor License application for Mill City Public House which recently had its application for a Special Use Permit approved by the City Plan Commission.

They will also be voting on a request to modify the table of organization for the Fire Department. Per the memo, “The Fire Department’s current Table of Organization includes one Fire Protection Engineer. The previous Fire Protection Engineer retired on January 3, 2022. Despite extensive efforts over the past five months to fill the position, a candidate has not been found. The Fire Department is requesting to modify the table of organization from a Civilian Fire Protection Engineer to a Public Education Specialist/Civilian Fire Inspector. This position was part the Fire Department between 1985 and 2010. The position was eliminated from the budget in 2011.”

The committee will also be receiving information on the Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit and Officer.
