Finance Committee Meeting 03/21/2022 – Will Vote On Employment Incentives For Seasonal Employees

The Finance Committee is meeting 03/21/2022 at 5:30PM.

They have a request to approve deeding some unneeded city owned land to the abutting property in the Village of Little Chute.

There are also some 2021 budget amendments and a request to award the city’s Hardscape Renovation project to Vinton Construction for $67,821.

Of note is that city staff is requesting the committee to approve appropriate funding authority to pay Parks & Recreation Seasonal Employee incentives. Per the memo of Parks, Recreation, and Facilitites Director Dean Gazza, “The lack of applicants and increasing competition for wages both locally and nationally has required Parks & Recreation and Human Resources to develop new strategies to hire and retain seasonal employees.”

They are asking approval for the following incentives:

  • Hiring Bonus – $100 (Must work through July 31st)
  • Retention Bonus – $100 (Must work through August 26th)
  • An increase of $1 per each hour worked on Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • Referral Bonus – $50 for each person referred and hired
  • An increase of $1 per hour during the months of April, September, and October
