I had noted when I posted the Covid update for 02/13/2022 that there seemed to be some discrepancies with the numbers the City of Appleton had posted. I have since talked to the health department and they updated their numbers so I have updated the post.
On 02/14/2022 Appleton recorded 16 confirmed coronavirus cases and 5 probable cases. Active cases decreased by 16 to 132. Cases out of isolation increased by 37 to 20,952. Deaths remained unchanged at 81.
Appleton’s decrease in the 7-day running average of new confirmed and probable cases seems to be slowing. It actually rose by 0.6 from the day before and is currently 22.29 as compared to 13 on this day last year. Appleton currently has 134 active cases as compared to 353 on this day last year. From March 18, 2020 (the day of Appleton’s first case) through February 14, 2021 Appleton recorded 60 deaths with/from coronavirus and had a death rate for known cases of 0.80%. That compares to 18 such deaths from during the same timeframe beginning March 18, 2021 and a death rate of only 0.14%.
