Appleton coronavirus cases continue to decrease and our weekly case total is the lower than it has been for the previous 12 weeks. Over the weekend from 02/04/2022 to 02/06/2022 Appleton recorded 52 confirmed coronavirus cases and 29 probable cases. Active cases rose by 32 to 179. Cases out of isolation increased by 49 to 20,735. Deaths remained unchanged at 80.
Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases is 25 points above where it was on this day last year, but it continues to drop daily and decreased by 17 points since 02/03/2022. Appleton currently has 179 active cases as compared to 423 on this day last year. Between March 18, 2020 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) to February 06, 2021 Appleton recorded 59 deaths with/from coronavirus and had a deathrate per known confirmed and probable cases of 0.79%. This compares to 17 such deaths during that same timeframe from 2021-2022 and a deathrate during that time of 0.13%.
Over the last week, Appleton recorded a total of 225 confirmed cases and 92 probable cases. The week before that we had 526 confirmed cases and 159 probable cases. Our total case count this most recent week is only 46% (less than half) of the total case count the week before. Our 2 week burden per 100,000 residents calculates out to 1,001 when using only confirmed cases or 1,336 when including probable case counts. Both of these are still in the “Critically High” burden category but have decreased markedly from the week before and for probable cases is only barely above the 1,000 threshold for “critically high” cases. Our weekly case count is now below where it was the week of 11/08/2021-11/14/2021.
