Although the Appleton Area School District Board of Education seats are non-partisan positions, that is perhaps more aspirational than actual. Ahead of the February 15, 2022 primary election, several political parties/organizations have come out with candidate recommendations.
The Outagamie chapters of both the Democratic and Republican parties have made recommendations, the Wisconsin Working Families Party which supports progressive candidates has recommended two of the people running for Board of Education seats, and the progressive organization Citizens Action Wisconsin has recommended one candidate.
Additionally, the Democratic Party of Outagamie County will be actively assisting the campaigns of the six progressive candidates by making phone calls and possibly knocking on doors and distributing literature.
Finally, two of the candidates have chosen to raise funds on the Democratic Party’s fundraising website ActBlue. None of the candidates have chosen to raise funds on the Republican fundraising website WinRed; however, one candidate did use a Republican mailing list to solicit donations.
