The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 01/24/2022 at 6PM.
In some respects, it does not appear to be a particularly eventful agenda.
This will be 2 weeks since the Board voted to rescind their vote from November and extend the mask mandate to at least mid-February rather than moving, as originally planned, to optional masking in schools with a student infection rate of less than 2%. There are currently 13 schools that would have been beneath that 2% threshold if the Board had not opted to extend the mask mandate. The Board will not, however be discussing that and does not seem to have a Covid-19 Update of any kind on the agenda.
There are still some items of interest on the agenda…
- The Board will be receiving an update on the referendum and the most recent focus group sessions.
- They’ll also be discussing the interview process for Superintendent candidates.
- Additionally, they’ll be listening to a presentation that will give a detailed look at the roles/daily activities of School Resource Officers in schools, from the perspective of an SRO.
- There will also be a special presentation on the 2020-21 Annual Financial Report (Audit)
