On 01/17/2021 Appleton recorded 96 confirmed coronavirus cases and 57 probable cases. Active cases rose by 4 to 270 and cases out of isolation increased by 149 to 18,575. Deaths remained unchanged at 79.
The 7-day running average of confirmed and probably cases this year is currently about 229 points higher than on this day last year. Active cases and deaths, however, continue to remain low. Appleton currently has 270 active cases as compared to 697 on this day last year. From March 18 of 2020 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) to January 17 of 2021, Appleton recorded 55 deaths with/from coronavirus which worked out to a deathrate of 0.79%. During that same timeframe in 2021-22 Appleton recorded only 16 deaths with/from coronavirus which works out to a deathrate of 0.15%
