Appleton’s current 7-day running average of new cases remains markedly higher than on this day last year and is approximately 40 points higher for confirmed cases and 66 points higher for confirmed and probable cases combined. Appleton currently has 193 active cases as compared to 603 on this day last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and January 4, Appleton recorded 52 deaths with/from coronavirus as compared to only 15 such deaths during that same timeframe this year.
