Appleton is now all caught up with the lag in reporting coronavirus numbers which was caused by technical issues at the state level.
On 12/12/2021 Appleton recorded 20 confirmed cases and 6 probable cases. Between 12/07 and 12/12, active cases rose by 10 to 275 while cases out of isolation increased by 253 to 13,381. During that timeframe Appleton had 1 death with/from coronavirus bringing the total to 76.
Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed cases is 38.43 as compared to 33.29 on this day last year. The 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases combined is 56.86 as compared to 42 on this day last year. Appleton currently has 275 active cases as compared to 569 on this day last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and December 12, Appleton saw 45 deaths with/from coronavirus as compared to 13 such deaths during that same timeframe this year.
Over the course of last week, Appleton had a total of 269 confirmed cases and 129 probable cases. The week before that we had 300 confirmed cases and 120 probable cases. Together, that causes our 2-week burden per 100,000 people to calculate out to 759 for confirmed cases and 1091 for confirmed and probable combined. That would be in the Very High category for confirmed and the Critically High category for confirmed and probable combined.
During the entire course of the pandemic, since Appleton’s first recorded case on 03/18/2020, 18.31% of Appleton residents have had a known or probable case of coronavirus. 0.1% of residents have died with/from coronavirus. 0.37% currently have an active case, and 81.69% of residents have either not gotten coronavirus or not had a case severe enough to warrant testing.
