Transit Commission Meeting 10/07/2021 – Ridership Numbers As Of October Still Lower Than 2020 Numbers

The Fox Cities Transit Commission is meeting 12/07/2021 at 3PM.

They will be voting on 3 intermunicipal agreements for specialized transportation services and 1 intermunicipal agreement for Dial-A-Ride Service for 2022.

They will also be voting to certify the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan and approve changes to the Valley Transit Drug and Alcohol Policy. [Usually when policies are updated, the committee voting on the changes is given a marked-up copy of the policy clearly showing where and what the updates are. That doesn’t seem to be the case in this situation, so it’s not clear to me what exactly has been changed or updated. Hopefully, they’ll review that in more detail during the commission meeting.]

The commission will also be voting to approve the 2022 – 2023 Federal Section 5310 Sub-recipient Contract. Per the memo from General Manager Ron McDonald, they received one grant application for these funds from Make the Ride Happen, a non-profit program under Lutheran Social Services. “Make the Ride Happen will use the funding to continue their mobility management program in the Fox Cities, including operation of a call center and volunteer driver program.”

The commission will also be reviewing the income statements and ridership numbers for September and October. The year-to-date ridership numbers as of 10/31/2021 are still below where they were on 10/31/2021 last year, and they’re still nearly 400,000 rides below where they were at the end of October in 2019.
