The Municipal Services Committee is meeting 11/22/2021 at 4:30PM.
Two items were referred back to the committee at that the most recent Common Council meeting.
1. Alderperson Denise Fenton (District 6) referred back the “Proposed changes to Municipal Code Section 9, Division 3-Central Business District Street Vendors”. The proposed changes would increase the total number of permits for food truck from 4 to 8 and would remove language currently in the code that bars food trucks from setting up shop within 50 feet of the main entrance of a business that sell the same or similar products.
Although this item is on the agenda for the 11/22 meeting, when Alderperson Fenton made the refer-back she asked if it could be referred to the 12/06/2021 committee meeting, so the committee will probably end up holding it until 12/06/2021.
2. Alderperson Michael Smith (District 10) referred back the 15 MPH speed limit designation on Washington Street from Story Street to Bennett Street. Previously, the committee had recommended that that that change from 25MPH to 15MPH be approved. When Alderperson Smith referred it back he indicated that he had some questions in to city staff about this item.
Beyond those two refer-backs, the committee will also be voting on an amendment to the city’s 2021 Materials Testing Contract with Westwood Infrastructure, Inc that would increase the total amount of the contract by $54,000.
As a somewhat connected item, they will be voting on awarding the 2022 Materials Testing Contract (M-22) to Westwood Infrastructure, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
Additionally, as a follow-up to a six-month trial period, they’ll be voting on a request to approve the installation of stop signs on Pine Street at Outagamie Street.
Beyond those action items, the committee will be holding design hearings for 4 future paving contracts, including project on Lawrence Street, Oneida Street, Morrison Street, and Durkee Street. Those hearings usually tend to be uneventful, but sometimes impacted residents show up with concerns and/or questions.
