On 09/30/2021 Appleton recorded 29 confirmed coronavirus cases and 26 probable cases. In spite of a combine total of 55 new cases, active cases only rose by 11 to 373 while cases out of isolation increased by 44 to 10,130. Deaths remained unchanged at 68.
Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed cases is 20.14 and of confirmed and probable cases combined is 34.14. Both of those are lower than last year’s 7-day running average on this day of confirmed cases which was 54.71. (Appleton did not start recording probable cases until 11/23/2020.) Active cases are also markedly lower this year (273) than last year on this day (526). Likewise, deaths are lower this year than last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and September 30, Appleton saw 9 deaths with/from coronavirus as compared to 5 deaths during that same timeframe this year.
