The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 09/27/2021 at 6PM.
As already posted, the meeting will include a presentation and discussion on “Distinguishing the Differences Between Critical Race Theory (CRT) vs. Culturally and Linguistically Responsive (CLR) Education Practices”.
There are other information items on the agenda beyond that include a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, a report on “2021 Wisdom Sharing”, and an update on the Covid-19 Dashboard and the District’s health insurance benefits.
Listed as action items are a vote on the District’s Emergency Superintendent Succession plan and the District’s policy regarding Personnel Administration. It’s not clear to me exactly what the Board is voting on in respect to those two items. The agenda lists the two items as “A. OE-2 Emergency Superintendent Succession – Interpretation and Indicators – for Consideration” and “B. OE-4 Personnel Administration – Interpretation and Indicators – for Consideration.”
Items in the Board’s Consent Agenda that will be voted on in bulk unless separated out for an individual vote include gifts to the district, approvals for some overnight trips, and educator contract changes and resignations.
