The Parks and Recreation Committee is meeting 09/20/2021 at 6:30PM. It should be a short meeting since it’s only scheduled for 30 minutes.
There is one action item on the agenda which is to award a Design, Engineering, and Permitting Services contract for the WE Energies Trail to KL Engineering for $134,912.58. This trail is a project that Alderperson Joe Martin (District 4) briefly discussed and was excited about when I talked to him about his decision to not seek another term.
KL Engineering was not the lowest bidder and is, in fact, about $7,000 more costly than the lowest bidder, but staff is recommending them because “KL Engineering was determined to be the most experienced firm for the scope of work for the WE Energies Trail Project.”
The committee will also be reviewing Reid Golf Course’s August Expenses and Revenue Report. It looks like this year their revenue is over $100,000 more than where it was last year.
